Registered Nurse, Hospice Make a Difference When It Matters Most

We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our growing hospice team. This position is for a nurse who wants to provide more than clinical care. It is an opportunity to guide patients and families through one of life’s most important seasons with dignity, clarity, and genuine compassion.

Our hospice nurses are trusted clinical leaders who coordinate care, manage symptoms, educate families, and help ensure each patient receives individualized, comfort-focused support. We are looking for someone who takes ownership of their work, communicates effectively, supports their teammates, and believes that excellent care begins with treating people the right way.

What You Will Do

As a Hospice Registered Nurse, you will:

  • Complete comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care
  • Provide skilled nursing care focused on comfort, symptom management, and quality of life
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers about medications, disease progression, safety, and what to expect
  • Coordinate care with physicians, hospice aides, social workers, chaplains, and other members of the interdisciplinary team
  • Respond promptly and compassionately when patients or families experience a change in condition
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough clinical documentation
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute meaningfully to care planning
  • Advocate for the needs, wishes, dignity, and comfort of each patient
  • Support coworkers and contribute to a healthy, positive, and accountable team culture
  • Follow clinical standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies
Who We Are Looking For

The right candidate is someone who:

  • Demonstrates compassion without sacrificing clinical excellence
  • Communicates honestly, respectfully, and clearly
  • Remains calm and dependable during difficult or emotionally demanding situations
  • Takes responsibility for following through on commitments
  • Works independently while remaining closely connected to the team
  • Is organized, responsive, and able to manage changing priorities
  • Values collaboration and is willing to help wherever needed
  • Accepts feedback well and remains committed to personal and professional growth
  • Treats patients, families, coworkers, and community partners with dignity
  • Understands that culture is built through everyday actions, not slogans on a wall

Hospice experience is valuable, but it is not the only thing we consider. We are also interested in nurses with strong clinical judgment, emotional maturity, integrity, and a sincere desire to learn hospice care.

Qualifications
  • Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse license
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Strong assessment, communication, and care coordination skills
  • Ability to travel within the assigned service area
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and required automobile insurance
  • Ability to meet the physical and emotional demands of community-based hospice nursing
  • Prior hospice, home health, palliative care, oncology, geriatrics, or acute-care experience is preferred
Why Join Our Team?

We are a growing organization committed to building an exceptional hospice program and an outstanding workplace culture. We believe employees do their best work when expectations are clear, leadership is supportive, communication is honest, and every team member understands the importance of their contribution.

You will join a team that values:

  • Patient-centered care
  • Clinical excellence
  • Personal accountability
  • Teamwork and mutual support
  • Respectful, direct communication
  • Servant leadership
  • Continuous improvement
  • Recognition of meaningful work

Hospice nursing is not always easy, but it is deeply important. The right nurse will find purpose in helping patients remain comfortable, helping families feel supported, and knowing their work made a difficult season more peaceful.
