Registered Nurse - Telemetry

Functioning within the Health System's mission, vision, values, policies, and procedures, the Registered Nurse assumes responsibility and accountability for the care of assigned patients on their shift. RN responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care using age-specific criteria. Judgments are made based upon scientific knowledge and clinical skills. The RN also assists in planning, directing, and teaching non-RN staff such as LPN/PCT and Unit Secretaries.

This position requires a schedule of 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, working 12-hour night shifts with a 36-hour guarantee and every other weekend.

Responsibilities:

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Utilize age-specific criteria while caring for patients.
• Teach and direct non-RN staff in patient care processes.
• Monitor and manage cardiac medications, including titration and application.
• Assess telemetry and recognize heart rhythms.
• Identify signs/symptoms of stroke and alter care as needed.
• Communicate effectively with patients and staff.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a clinical setting.
• Active American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Active American Heart Association ACLS certification.
• Nursys must show active Ohio/OH or Compact RN License.
• Competent in telemetry with knowledge of heart rhythms.
• Strong critical thinking skills and ability to recognize changes in patient status.
