Licensed Practical Nurse
Functioning within the Health System’s mission, values, objectives, procedures and policies, and under the direction of a physician or Registered Nurse, the Licensed Practical Nurse provides services to Corporate Health clients and Associates including direct client care and clinic activities. Observes, plans, implements, and evaluates the client’s response to care based upon clinical activities. May perform duties in/be required to travel to off-site locations as directed based on operational need.
Education:
Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Licensure/Certification :
Must have a valid unrestricted LPN license for the State of Ohio. Current BLS required.
Experience:
One to three years experience specific to physician office practice or Health System preferred. Previous experience in Occupational Health with knowledge of Bureau of Workman’s Compensation desired.
Skills:
Must have excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, including the ability to exhibit patience and tact with all constituents including physicians, patients and associates. Must be cooperative and collaborative, have the documented ability to work with speed and proficiency, and be knowledgeable in word processor/computer software. SYSTOC (EMR) software knowledge preferred. Ability to trouble shoot minor equipment malfunction is preferred. Expertise with Microsoft products including Word Perfect and Excel is preferred.
Must show competency in basic nursing skills. Technical skill requirements include knowledge of medical practice with the demonstrated ability to assist in giving patient care including examination, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures. The LPN must also have the ability to take vital signs, administer vaccines and have knowledge of medical equipment and instruments used to administer patient care. Basic knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment and the ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situation are also required.
Phlebotomy competency desired may be obtained within 60 days of hire.
