New Graduate Nurse, RN

• Provide safe and effective hemodialysis therapy as part of the health care team
• Perform pre-treatment vascular access evaluations
• Perform and document pre- and post-dialysis evaluations, weights, and vital signs
• Perform vascular access cannulation and report difficulties or unusual findings
• Initiate dialysis treatment according to prescribed blood-flow and dialysate-flow orders
• Evaluate intradialytic problems and provide prescribed or directed interventions
• Monitor patient responses to dialysis therapy
• Perform treatment discontinuation, venous-access termination, hemostasis, dressing, and discharge procedures
• Document treatment information and patient responses in health records and clinical applications
• Report significant information or changes in patient condition to the nurse supervisor
• Obtain prescribed laboratory tests and prepare, label, store, and arrange courier collection of specimens
• Prepare dialysis machines, conduct required setup and testing, and disinfect equipment and treatment areas
• Maintain safe, clean, and environmentally sound treatment areas
• Review health care records and correct omitted or incomplete entries
• Prepare laboratory requisitions
• Perform other related duties as assigned

• Graduated from an accredited nursing program within the past 12 months
• Required to obtain nursing license within 90 days of employment
• Must work under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse while working toward obtaining a nursing license
• Ability to handle demanding situations, multitask, and remain flexible to changing needs
• Regular and punctual attendance
• Ability to take the Ishihara's Color Blindness test as a condition of employment; failing does not preclude employment and reasonable accommodations will be considered
• Ability to provide direct patient care involving heavy lifting, moving patients, assisting with ambulation, prolonged standing, bending, and lifting up to 40 lbs.
• May be required to travel between assigned facilities, community locations, and regional, Business Unit, and Corporate meetings

Demonstrates proficiency in providing hemodialysis therapy, including patient evaluations, vascular access procedures, and monitoring patient responses. Capable of maintaining treatment areas and documenting patient information accurately while working under supervision.
