Summary The Quality Systems & EHS Coordinator is responsible for maintaining and improving the facility's Food/Feed Safety, Quality, Environmental Health & Safety, and regulatory compliance programs. This position serves as the facility SQF Practitioner and supports FAMI-QS compliance while coordinating audits, corrective actions, employee training, document control, and environmental, health, and safety initiatives.

The position works closely with the Plant Manager to ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, food/feed safety, quality, and workplace safety requirements and serves as a backup resource for key plant management functions.

Quality Systems & Food/Feed Safety Lead and maintain the facility SQF Food Safety and Quality Management System.

Lead and Maintain FAMI-QS certification requirements.

Serve as facility SQF Practitioner.

Lead and serve the Food/Feed Safety team.

Maintain HACCP and Food/Feed Safety Plans.

Manage prerequisite programs including:

GMPs Sanitation Pest  Control Allergen Management Foreign Material Control Food/Feed Defense Chemical Control Traceability Coordinate  mock recalls and traceability exercises.

Review production and quality records for compliance.

Coordinate customer complaints, investigations, and corrective actions.

Assist with product release activities.

Maintain retention sample programs.

Participate in Quality Review Team meetings.

Audit & Compliance Management Coordinate internal audit programs.

Lead preparation for customer, regulatory, SQF, FAMI-QS, and third-party audits.

Maintain corrective action (CAPA) tracking systems.

Manage non-conforming material documentation and investigations.

Maintain document control systems and ensure current revisions are utilized.

Track and report quality metrics and compliance KPIs.Maintain training records and compliance documentation.

Environmental Health & Safety Assist in maintaining OSHA compliance programs.

Coordinate employee safety training and onboarding.

Maintain SDS and chemical inventory systems.

Conduct routine facility safety inspections.

Track safety incidents, near misses, and corrective actions.

Assist with industrial hygiene, hazard assessments, and risk evaluations.

Support contractor safety programs.

Assist with environmental compliance requirements and reporting.

Participate in emergency preparedness, evacuation, and incident response planning.

Plant Leadership Support Provide administrative and operational support to the Plant Manager.

Assist with employee training and competency assessments.

Support investigations involving quality, food/feed safety, safety, and operational concerns.

Coordinate cross-functional improvement projects.

Serve as backup support for plant management functions during absences.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but is expected to coordinate activities across departments and provide leadership related to quality, food/feed safety, compliance, and safety programs.

Education and/or Experience

Required:

Associate's degree in Food Science, Quality, Safety, Environmental Health, Biology, Industrial Technology, Business; or equivalent experience.

Minimum 2 years of experience in manufacturing, food/feed safety, quality assurance, EHS, or regulatory compliance.

Preferred:

Bachelor's degree in related field.

Experience with SQF, FAMI-QS, HACCP, GMP, or similar quality systems.

Experience participating in customer or third-party audits.

Experience with CAPA systems and document control.

Certifications (preferred)
HACCP CertifiedSQF Practitioner Training Internal Auditor TrainingOSHA 10 or OSHA 30
