Quality Engineer

Plastipak Packaging, Inc., a global leader in rigid plastic packaging and recycling, seeks a Quality Engineer to drive product and process excellence at our manufacturing facility. In this role, you will develop and maintain quality systems, perform root cause analysis, and lead corrective actions to ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and industry standards. You will analyze data to reduce defects, support PPAP and FMEA, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and champion continuous improvement, safety, and sustainability in a fast-paced, innovative production environment with strong career growth potential.

• Lead quality assurance for plastic packaging production lines, ensuring products meet customer and regulatory requirements
• Develop, implement, and maintain quality procedures, control plans, and work instructions
• Perform root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions for nonconformances and customer complaints
• Analyze production and quality data to identify trends, reduce defects, and drive continuous improvement
• Support PPAP, FMEA, capability studies, and other core quality tools for new and existing products
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and maintenance to resolve quality issues and optimize processes
• Conduct internal audits and support external/customer audits and certifications (e.g., ISO standards)
• Train operators and technicians on quality standards, inspection methods, and documentation
• Maintain accurate quality records, reports, and documentation systems
• Support implementation of lean and Six Sigma initiatives to improve yield and reduce waste
