Job Overview
As an Outside Food Sales Representative, you will cultivate relationships, develop new business, and provide innovative solutions to our customers, helping them achieve their goals while advancing your own. Your responsibilities include managing sales and relationships for existing and prospective customers within your assigned territory.

- Overall sales and relationship management for existing and prospective customers within the assigned territory.
- Research industry and market trends impacting restaurants within your territory.
- Identify and research prospective customers within your territory.
- Develop sales strategies that highlight products, services, values, and solutions offered by Gordon Food Service and present the sales strategy to prospective customers.
- Visit all customers within the assigned territory on a weekly, bi‑weekly, or monthly basis.
- Conduct business reviews to determine existing customer needs and identify opportunities for sales growth.
- Provide ongoing training to customers on Gordon Food Service product offerings.
- Identify opportunities within existing customer businesses where Gordon Food Service can add value through product and service offerings.
- Balance new customer acquisition with deepening and strengthening existing customer relationships.
- Coordinate visits to prospective customers and existing customers.
- Communicate order status and order processing updates to customers.
- Use Gordon Food Service systems, processes, and tools to manage customer relationships.
- Learn about the products available to Gordon Food Service customers.
- Understand the sales process for engaging new customers.
- Establish relationships within the vast network of resources available to a Gordon Food Service sales representative.
- Apply best practices for developing relationships with current and prospective customers.
- Develop strategies for effectively managing your territory.
- High school diploma/GED required.
- Fluency in Spanish and English required.
- Bachelor's degree and/or culinary certificate preferred.
- One year of prior sales, business, or food service experience.
- Maintaining a valid, unrestricted state driver's license and a safe driving record.
- If applicable, must participate in the company vehicle reimbursement program and maintain required insurance levels.
- Ability to obtain food safety certification.
