: $18.00 hourly
Technicians work independently in the field, using a company-provided vehicle. They use locating equipment to determine the location of gas lines in a designated area and mark the area with paint and flags to prevent damage to utility infrastructure. They develop knowledge of underground utility infrastructure, follow all company, client, state, and federal damage prevention guidelines, and, as part of the Advanced Gas Operations division, may locate other utilities in addition to gas lines depending on the project assigned.
Work may include hand digging to unearth gas lines and other utilities, and technicians must be able to work day‑time full‑time positions that may require overtime, weekend shifts, and on‑call shifts, including nights and weekends, depending on business needs.

- Able and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions; previous outdoor experience is a plus.
- Available to work overtime, weekends, and on‑call shifts as needed.
- Ability to travel locally during the business day; some out‑of‑area or overnight travel may be expected.
- Able to pass a drug screen (safety‑sensitive position).
- Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
- Able to stand and walk for long periods on varying terrain, bend, stoop, and lift heavy items up to 75 lbs.
- Able to distinguish between colors used to identify wiring and mark underground utilities.
- Proficiency with technology.
- Able to read, understand, and reference locate tickets, as well as maps and prints; possess basic math skills to calculate distances.
- Able to communicate clearly with colleagues, customers, contractors, and homeowners; customer service experience is a plus.
