2nd shift Maintenance Technician

2rd Shift: Monday - Friday (2:30PM- 12:00AM) $27-$29/hr

Valtir is hiring a 3rd shift Maintenance Technician team member to support our Lima, OH manufacturing facility. The role requires a knowledgeable technician to successfully support the plant associates in implementing and maintaining the day‑by‑day tasks dedicated to deploy the safety, preventative maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives.

What you’ll do

Troubleshoot and perform mechanical/electrical repairs on various types of equipment including cranes, forklifts, presses, mills, etc.
Determine root cause of equipment problems and implement corrective actions to reduce downtime
Use mobile equipment including scissors lift, boom lift, forklift, crane and others to perform job tasks
Perform preventive maintenance on all tools, machinery and equipment
Complete individual work orders in a thorough and timely manner
Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned
Conditions can be hot, cold, dirty and noisy
The job is within a fast‑paced, heavy industrial environment and you may be required to work in various areas of the plant
Safety is our highest priority and safety procedures/guidelines must be adhered to at all times. This includes safety wear such as hearing and eye protection, protective clothing and steel‑toed shoes
Attendance and showing up to work on time are important to the success of the plant. Dependable job attendance is expected

What you’ll need

Sophisticated knowledge of electricity, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanics with the ability to use this knowledge to install, maintain, and repair plant equipment
Experience with repairs on hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical equipment
Ability to operate various electric, pneumatic, and other hand tools
Positive “Can Do” attitude, able to weather setbacks and cultural resistance
Must be able to work individually and as part of a team
Reliable and predictable attendance
