• Assist with spotting cars on the correct track, move empty cars and build the outbound train
• Classification of inbound train
• Interaction with class one railroad
• Daily spot and pull with Ironhorse
• Visually inspect rail cars and perform air brakes inspections
• Cross train and willingness to assist in the different functions performed at the facility
• Operate a locomotive – training and certification provided
• Participate in and promote Savage safety program / SHAPS

• Switching experience preferred
• Ability to perform basic maintenance
• Active TWIC card (Transportation Worker Identification Credential)
• Ability to attend and complete all training, including OSHA, Haz Mat and FRA related courses
• Willingness to travel to other sites for switching and training
• Willingness to wear required PPE
• Ability to work rotating shifts, holidays and weekends
• Work experience in an industrial environment
• Ability to read, write and understand English
• Clear drug/alcohol test and criminal background check

• Work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Comfortable with heights
• Walk 5+ miles per day on uneven terrain
• Lift 50 lbs.
• Work, walk and stand on uneven ballast surfaces for long periods

• Starting hourly pay: $26.50 Dayshift / $27.50 Night shift
• Uniforms and PPE (laundering included)
• $150 per year Steel Toe Boot Allowance
