Transport Driver

Job Description

Marathon Petroleum Company LP (MPC) has a position available for a local (home daily) transport driver. Drivers are responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of petroleum products from loading locations to delivery points and customers, following policies, procedures, and standards. The vision is no accidents, no injuries, and being good stewards of the environment.

• Hourly Rates: $33.01 - $34.89
• Health/Dental/Vision coverage available day 1

• Active Class A Commercial Driver’s License
• Maintain a satisfactory driving record and consent to company review
• Register with FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse and consent to review
• Ability to drive interstate
• Hazardous Materials and Tank Vehicle endorsements (required)
• Operate manual and/or automatic transmission

• Work up to a 12‑hour AM/PM shift
• Work hours beyond schedule when required

• Perform pre‑trip inspection aligning with MPC policy and DOT regulations
• Drive tank truck/trailer or tractor/trailer safely, efficiently, and professionally
• Follow loading and offloading procedures, obeying federal, state, and local laws
• Complete post‑trip inspection, regulatory paperwork, and ensure equipment readiness
• Communicate incidents, safety, and environmental concerns per company procedures
• Report equipment issues promptly
• Adhere to all safety rules and operating procedures, including DOT regulations

• Operate outdoors in all weather conditions
• Work at elevations of 30+ feet on graded surfaces
• Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling 50‑65 lbs frequently
• Sit for extended periods
• Grip steering wheel for extended periods

• Maintain satisfactory driving record, consent to review
• Pass required drug and alcohol screening
• Complete DOT physical and maintain medical card
• Pass three‑year DOT safety background check and seven‑year criminal background check
• Pass pre‑trip exam and road test demonstrating proficiency
