Position: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Primary Care/Pediatrics

Seeking an LPN for our busy Pediatrics practice at Lincoln City Medical Center.

This position will receive an hourly differential (additional compensation) in addition to the base hourly rate.

JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
  • Assists practitioners in performing procedures, managing telephone prescription orders/refills, maintaining patient records, and relaying test results. Provides safe and quality nursing care under the supervision of SHS practitioners and the Clinic Supervisor within the scope of practice.
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
  • Samaritan Lincoln City Clinic offers primary health care for all family members, from newborns to seniors, through pediatrics, family medicine, and internal medicine providers. The clinic emphasizes compassion, dignity, and respect. The healthcare team may include doctors, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, behavioral health specialists, medical assistants, and other staff working collaboratively to maintain optimal health. Preventive care, including annual exams, health screenings, and lifestyle counseling, is encouraged and offered.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
  • Current unencumbered Oregon Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensure required.
  • Healthcare Provider BLS certification required.
  • Previous clinical experience preferred.
  • Lab/EKG experience preferred.

  • Patient Care: Skills and knowledge to assist and care for patients, recognize symptoms, understand drug properties and interactions, treatments, and preventive health measures within scope of practice.
  • Adaptability/Flexibility: Ability to respond quickly and appropriately to diverse patient situations and adjust actions to provide the best care.
  • Communication: Effective written and oral communication skills to explain complex issues, exchange information, and discuss issues tactfully. Capable of group presentations and understanding complex information.
  • Team Building: Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and develop cooperative relationships.
  • Medical Terminology: Knowledge of medical records, procedures, terminology, and the ability to interpret policies, laws, and regulations.
  • Social Perceptiveness: Ability to work with diverse populations, understanding age-related differences, and demonstrating sensitivity and a non-judgmental attitude.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Rarely (1-10%)): WALK - Incline
  • Occasionally (11-33%): LIFT (Floor to Waist 0-36 inches): 40-60 lbs; LIFT (Knee to chest 24-54 inches): 20-40 lbs; PUSH/PULL: 0-20 lbs; CLIMB stairs; REACH, SIT, STAND, WALK on level surface; BEND, ROTATE, SQUAT, KNEEL, CARRY, MANUAL DEXTERITY tasks.
