ASD Teacher Consultant Position

Lincoln Park Public Schools announces a vacancy for the  school year.

Position: ASD Teacher Consultant Position and any position that results from the filling of this position

Qualifications:

• Michigan Teacher Certification
• Michigan Special Education Teacher Certification (SV)
• Experience in ASD center program preferred
• Must meet North Central requirements for this position
• Must meet MCL 380.1531 & Administrative Rules Governing the Certification of MI Teachers
• Extensive knowledge of IDEA and MARSE preferred
• Knowledge of trauma informed strategies and interventions
• Experience testing and evaluating students for Special Education preferred
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education and/or Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.

Duties:

• Serve as a classroom instructional leader for meeting the needs of ASD students
• Create and maintain resource bank for curriculum and social/visual supports
• Develop and implement systems for baseline and progress monitoring for student growth
• Instructional coach for first author, emergent literacy, foundations of math, health curriculum, science/SS and electives
• Serve as a team leader
• Promote more inclusive environments and opportunities within schools/unified in school settings- support p2p
• Assist with coordination of parent engagement activities and parent education
• Provide professional development relative to students with ASD
• Sit on County and Statewide committees related to Special Education
• Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Special Services and Special Education Supervisors
