ASD Teacher Consultant Position
Lincoln Park Public Schools is announcing a vacancy for the school year. The position is for an ASD Teacher Consultant and any position that results from the filling of this position. The qualifications include Michigan Teacher Certification, Michigan Special Education Teacher Certification (SV), experience in ASD center program preferred, meeting North Central requirements for this position, meeting MCL 380.1531 & Administrative Rules Governing the Certification of MI Teachers, extensive knowledge of IDEA and MARSE preferred, knowledge of trauma informed strategies and interventions, experience testing and evaluating students for Special Education preferred.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education and/or Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.
Duties include serving as a classroom instructional leader for meeting the needs of ASD students, creating and maintaining a resource bank for curriculum and social/visual supports, developing and implementing systems for baseline and progress monitoring for student growth, instructional coaching for first author, emergent literacy, foundations of math, health curriculum, science/SS and electives, serving as a team leader, promoting more inclusive environments and opportunities within schools/unified in school settings- support p2p, assisting with coordination of parent engagement activities and parent education, providing professional development relative to students with ASD, sitting on County and Statewide committees related to Special Education, and other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Special Services and Special Education Supervisors.
Responsible to the Executive Director of Special Education, Special Education Supervisors. Work schedule according to the school calendar. Salary according to LPEA Salary Schedule.
