POSITION:Literacy Coach - Raupp
And any positions that result from the filling of this posting.
QUALIFICATIONS:- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with proper endorsement
- Must meet MCL 380.1531 & Administrative Rules Governing the Certification of MI Teachers
- Must have a minimum of 5 years teaching experience
- Knowledge of applicable Federal and State statutes
- Reading Recovery training preferred or willing to obtain
- Shows knowledge of current literacy practices and strategies
- Thorough knowledge of the components of a comprehensive literacy program and literacy strategies
- Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with co-workers, students, and parents and the general public
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education and/or Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable
Applicant must provide evidence of meeting qualification
DUTIES:- Coordinate and provide strategic instructional coaching to meet the individual needs of teachers
- Model effective instructional strategies for teachers
- Facilitate Study Groups
- Train Teachers in Data Analysis and Differentiated Instruction
- Coach and Mentor colleagues
- Ensure Evidence Based Reading Programs
- Train Teachers to Diagnose and Address Reading Deficiencies
- Work with teachers in applying evidence based Reading Strategies in other content areas
- Work frequently with pupils in whole and small group instruction or tutoring in the contents of modeling and coaching in or outside of teachers' classrooms
- Increase Instructional Density
- Help Lead and support Reading Leadership Teams
- Model and Train teachers in accordance with Lincoln Park Schools instructional philosophy and curriculum
- Model Small and Whole Group Instruction
- Train new hires before school starts
Will not serve as a function in any administrative capacity
