Job ResponsibilitiesAs a Maintenance Technician, you will ensure the smooth operation of our 3 Detroit area car washes. Your responsibilities include maintaining car wash equipment, facility equipment (e.g., heaters, doors, etc.), point of sale equipment and completing special projects as needed. Your work will involve:
- 3-phase electrical systems
- 120v electrical systems
- Low voltage electrical systems (data, 24v)
- Plumbing
- Pneumatics
- Hydraulics
- General mechanics
- Welding
You’ll report directly to the Director of Maintenance Operations, who will provide instruction, scheduling, and technical support. You’ll also coordinate with area management, location management, and other maintenance personnel to complete your duties.
Wash experience preferred but not required.

Experience:
- 3+ years in a hands‑on maintenance role (industrial, production, car wash, or similar environment)
- 2+ years with 3‑phase electrical systems
- 1+ year with control wiring
- 1+ year with plumbing, hydraulics, or pneumatics
- 1+ year in mechanical work
Technical
Skills:
- Ability to weld or the willingness to learn
- Ability to operate a cutting torch or the willingness to learn
- Ability to safely operate a box truck up to 26’ and pull a trailer
- Ability to use computers and other electronic devices for work orders, expenses, part ordering & research
Physical Requirements:
- Work in all weather conditions (wet, dry, hot, cold) indoors and outdoors
- Handle heavy equipment, bend, lift, and stand for long periods (with or without reasonable accommodation)
- Work in loud environments and around heavy equipment
- See variations in color
- Work on A‑frame and extension ladders, including roof access
- Work on man lifts up to 28’ high
- Lift over 75 lbs and consistently lift or carry objects of 50 lbs
Soft Skills:
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Communicate effectively with location staff and the maintenance department
- Manage budget, expenses, and inventory
- Act with a sense of urgency and a prepared plan
- Maintain flexibility in scheduling and work order response, adapting to changing priorities
Professional Standards:
- Maintain a professional appearance (natural hair color, trimmed facial hair, no visible tattoos from the neck up or on hands larger than a dime, earrings limited to studs)
- Pass a background and driving history review
- Reliable Transportation
- Valid driver’s license with no restrictions
Additional Requirements:
- Willingness to spend up to 5 days in Illinois for training (expenses paid)
- Willingness to work up to 10 scheduled days a year in Illinois for further training or special projects
$22‑$25/hr
Work Hours40 hours per week, with availability for overtime if needed
