TITLE & REGISTRATION SPECIALIST Performance Auto Group POSITION SUMMARY

Performance Auto Group is growing, and we are looking for an experienced and highly organized Title & Registration Specialist to join our team.

The Title & Registration Specialist is responsible for accurately and efficiently processing vehicle titles, registrations, temporary tags, license plates, and related motor vehicle documentation. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that every vehicle transaction is completed accurately, on time, and in compliance with applicable state and manufacturer requirements.

The ideal candidate has automotive dealership experience
, understands motor vehicle paperwork and DMV processes, has exceptional attention to detail, and can manage a high volume of transactions while providing outstanding service to both customers and dealership personnel.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Process vehicle titles, registrations, license plates, and temporary tags
  • Prepare and submit motor vehicle documentation to the appropriate DMV/MVC agencies
  • Process both in-state and out-of-state vehicle registrations
  • Review all paperwork for accuracy, completeness, signatures, and required documentation
  • Verify customer information, vehicle information, VINs, lienholder information, and applicable fees
  • Process title transfers, duplicate titles, corrected titles, lien releases, and other title-related transactions
  • Prepare and process temporary registration and tag documentation
  • Track title and registration transactions from the date of sale through completion
  • Monitor outstanding titles and registrations and follow up to ensure timely completion
  • Maintain accurate records of all DMV/MVC transactions
  • Resolve title and registration issues quickly and professionally
  • Communicate with customers regarding registration, title, plate, and documentation requirements
  • Work closely with Sales, Finance, Accounting, Service, and Management
  • Communicate with DMV/MVC representatives, lenders, customers, and other agencies as needed
  • Ensure all transactions comply with dealership policies and applicable state requirements
  • Maintain organized files and documentation for completed and pending transactions
  • Assist with audits and internal reviews of motor vehicle records
  • Stay current on changes to DMV/MVC rules, regulations, forms, and procedures
  • Maintain confidentiality of customer and dealership information
  • Provide excellent customer service throughout the registration and title process
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Previous automotive dealership title and registration experience strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of DMV/MVC procedures and requirements
  • Strong understanding of vehicle titles, registrations, plates, and temporary tags
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple transactions and deadlines simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Professional and courteous customer-service skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to work independently while also being an effective team member
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced dealership environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

Experience with the following is a plus:

  • Automotive dealership title and registration departments
  • DMV/MVC electronic processing systems
  • Dealer track, CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, or other dealership management systems
  • Out-of-state registrations
  • Lienholder and payoff documentation
  • Title corrections and duplicate titles
  • Temporary tag processing
  • Wholesale and dealer-to-dealer transactions
