Qualifications:

• Valid NJ School Administrator or Principal Certificate
• Successful teaching experience at the elementary, middle, and/or high school levels.
• Demonstrated leadership in school improvement, program development and curriculum integration
• Experience with curriculum writing and teacher evaluations
• Ability to plan, organize and implement a PK-8 level professional development program
• Ability to maintain a positive learning environment
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
• Required criminal history background check and proof of US citizenship or legal resident alien status
• Experience working with school transportation systems
• Experience with human resources related tasks

Job Description:

Director of Curriculum, Instruction, Transportation and Human Resources is responsible, with the district superintendent and administrators, to evaluate and guide teachers in implementing curriculum through effective teaching techniques and to ensure a smooth transition between grade levels. The director works to develop, coordinate, and participate in training and development programs. Work includes conducting needs analysis, developing training proposals, participating in the instruction of training programs, and monitoring and evaluating teaching and training programs.

Job Goal:
To provide leadership in the development, implementation and coordination of the district curriculum, evaluation system and professional development in order to improve instruction within the district. This candidate will also oversee transportation communication to the community and oversee human resources processes for the district.

Performance Responsibilities:

Assumes responsibility for the management of the school in accordance with law, administrative code and Board policies and regulations in the absence of the principal

Assists with school-level planning for improvement of instruction. Involves teachers and parents in the development and implementation of school plans to achieve pupil performance objectives, curriculum content standards and core course proficiencies.

Work with administration in developing the total PK-8 district curriculum and assists in the formulation of a philosophy and objectives for the instructional plan

Responsible for evaluation of school personnel utilizing the Board approved evaluation system and meeting the training requirements of the State in approved evaluation system

Chairs committees consisting of teachers and administrators with the goal of developing curriculum in each content area

Studies, evaluates and, as appropriate, recommends to the administration the adoption of new instructional materials, methods and programs

Works to develop, coordinate research, and participate in professional development and training programs for the effective implementation of educational strategies
