Overview

Lincoln Park Healthcare Campus is currently seeking full-time Porters for 7a-3pm and 3pm-11pm shifts. Must be able to work every other weekend.

Must be proficient in the English language to communicate effectively with residents, staff, and visitors. Some institutional housekeeping background is helpful, including stripping, waxing and buffing, but not necessary.

• Properly sweep and mop corridors and resident rooms utilizing safety precautions.
• Spray buff corridors and resident rooms as per schedule, utilizing safety precautions.
• Demonstrates ability to strip, wax and buff rooms, public rooms, and employee areas in a timely manner. Follows schedule of total cleaning and a schedule of daily, weekly and monthly cleaning.
• Remove trash from utility rooms as needed.
• Transport trash from facility to dumpster in a safe, timely manner.
• Washes walls properly and when needed.
• Clean elevator tracks as per schedule.
• Properly clean restrooms and restroom floors.
• Maintain porter closets in an orderly manner, clean floor and sink and keep items off floor and 18” from ceiling.
• Respond to fire alarms and know responsibilities.
• Change light bulbs as needed.
• Unclog toilets as needed.
• Assist with Housekeeping/Laundry deliveries in a timely manner.
• Follow infection control procedures.
• Assist other areas of
  
  E. Service Department such as laundry, housekeeping aide as directed by supervisor.
• Keep supplies organized and order new supplies when needed.

• Demonstrate ability to handle stressful situations.
• Must be able to write and speak the English language in an understandable manner.
• Must be able to see and hear or use prosthesis that will enable these senses to function.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds.
• Must be able to sit, stand, bend, lift, push, and move intermittently during working hours.
• Ability to relate and work with the physically and emotionally challenged resident.
