Job Overview

Japanese Translator (DIRECT HIRE) for Honda Logistics North America, located in Lincoln, AL. This is an onsite role with a pay rate of up to $28.85 per hour based on experience. Overtime is paid after 40 hours worked. Hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m. The successful candidate will translate written and spoken communication from English to Japanese and vice versa, ensuring accurate and culturally appropriate translations.

• Translate documents, presentations, emails, and other forms of communication from English to Japanese and from Japanese to English.
• Interpret during meetings, conferences, and phone calls as needed.
• Ensure translated content is culturally appropriate and maintains the original meaning and tone.
• Proofread and edit translations to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Collaborate with team members to support cross‑cultural communication.
• Conduct research on industry‑specific terminology to ensure clear and precise translation.
• Meet deadlines and manage multiple translation projects simultaneously.

• Proven experience as a Japanese Translator or in a similar role.
• Excellent proficiency in Japanese and English (both written and spoken).
• Strong understanding of cultural differences and the ability to adapt translations accordingly.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Proficiency in using translation software/tools is a plus.
• Optional:
  Relevant certification such as JLPT N1 preferred.
• Must be able to keep items confidential at all times; information shared only on a need‑to‑know basis.

• Experience working in a Japanese OEM manufacturing environment (if applicable).
• Knowledge of technical, legal, medical, or business terminology (if applicable).
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint).
