Staff Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented staff accountant to join a construction-focused organization in Lincoln, California in a contract-to-permanent capacity. This position is best suited for someone who enjoys managing core accounting activities, stays organized under deadlines, and works effectively in a fully onsite environment. The role centers on supporting day-to-day financial operations, maintaining accurate records, and contributing to month-end reporting with a high level of reliability and precision.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the full cycle of vendor invoice processing, ensuring payables are reviewed, coded, and entered accurately and on time.
• Prepare and distribute customer billing, apply incoming payments, and keep receivable balances current and well documented.
• Reconcile vendor statements, customer accounts, and key balance sheet accounts to resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Record journal entries and maintain general ledger accuracy to support monthly and periodic close activities.
• Assist with preparing internal financial reports by organizing accounting data and validating supporting documentation.
• Monitor sales tax and related accounting details to help maintain compliance with company and reporting requirements.
• Work within Quick Books Desktop to maintain accounting records and support efficient day-to-day transaction processing.
• Partner with internal team members to support accounting operations in a fast-paced, fully onsite setting.
