Kyuden Energy Partners has a career opportunity for an Instrumentation & Controls Technician at our Rio Bravo Rocklin Power Plant located in Lincoln, CA.

The salary rate range for this role is $43.00 to $55.00 per hour (negotiable based on experience)

Job Summary

Conducts day-to-day operations and maintenance of the plant to include supporting plant operations, mechanical maintenance, electrical maintenance, or instruments and controls. Instrumentation and control technicians (I&C Tech) work on measuring and controlling instrumentation. An I&C Tech is responsible for calibrating, testing, troubleshooting, reworking, modifying and inspecting power plant instrumentation and control components and systems. Some of the instruments include transmitters, analyzers, sensors, detectors, signal conditioners, recorders, controllers, and final control elements.

In addition, the I&C Tech will be responsible for the plant Continuous Emissions Monitor equipment, Continuous Opacity Monitor, and plant DCS. Assists in conducting acceptance and performance tests on existing or new plant equipment. Manage and maintain work order CMMS, involved in budget planning, outage planning, plant safety program, plant heat rate improvement program, and plant environmental program.

Job Functions

  • Start-up, operate, shutdown and secure assigned equipment or systems under normal and emergency conditions.
  • Troubleshoot and perform basic level mechanical skills such as adjustments, lubrication, and oil changes.
  • Inspect assigned machinery thoroughly for malfunctions and / or potential failures.
  • Consulting diagrams and technical documentation such as schematics, manuals, standards, and codes
  • Maintaining backup and revisions documentation for control systems and instrumentation
  • Installing, configuring, calibrating, and maintaining control, measurement and indicating instrumentation (pneumatic, analog, and digital)
  • Configuring and programming Programmable Logic Controls (PLC) and Programmable Automation Controllers (PAC)
  • Installing and terminating electrical, pneumatic, and fluid connections
  • Inspecting and testing the operation of instruments and systems to diagnose faults.
  • Removing, repairing, adjusting, and replacing components
  • Calibrating components and systems
  • Assisting as needed in plant design modification and hazard analysis.
  • Maintaining various computer-based control systems
  • Performing scheduled maintenance programs
  • Keeping up to date with advances in technology in the industry
  • Perform the tasks of opening, closing, racking, resetting and routine maintenance on breakers and switch gear up as assigned.
  • Maintain logs and records as required to record complete operating conditions for assigned equipment and systems and report any irregularities.
  • Assists in the development of operating and maintenance procedures to ensure consistent and safe operation.
  • Conduct or assist in scheduled and forced outage maintenance work.
