This role is a contributing member of the leadership team, driving decision processes of the various business units in order to adequately anticipate technology resource needs, offer advice on technology-enabled opportunities, direct the development of new and innovative solutions, and respond to emergent requirements.
The Director of IT establishes San Francisco Bay Coffee’s technical vision and leads all aspects of San Francisco Bay Coffee technology development. This position is responsible for the organization’s total IT and operational technology (OT) footprint as it relates to strategy, architecture, policy, compliance, security, and risk management of IT-enabled functions - spanning enterprise applications, cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, data governance, manufacturing systems, and analytics.
ResponsibilitiesStrategy & Leadership
- Provide strategic and tactical planning, development, evaluation, and coordination of the information and technology systems for the organization. Research new solutions and technologies and implement changes
- Own the multi-year IT strategy and roadmap aligned to company growth, margin, service-level, and food-safety objectives
- Responsible for organizational direction and business unit strategies with regards to technology, digital commerce, and customer-facing systems
- Develop and monitor annual operating and capital budgets for information and technology systems
- Establish and chair IT governance covering intake, prioritization, architecture review, and change control
- Lead and develop the Information Technology team, including talent development, performance management, and succession planning
- Develop and lead a company-wide data governance program to ensure data quality, consistency, security, accessibility, and accountability across the organization
- Develop a cohesive enterprise data ecosystem that consolidates information from manufacturing equipment, production systems, ERP platforms, and business applications into a centralized environment for analysis, regulatory compliance, reporting, and performance measurement
- Own enterprise data governance using Microsoft Purview, including data classification, sensitivity labeling, data loss prevention, retention, and cloud auditing
- Direct the Power BI and Microsoft Fabric analytics platform, including data model standards and a governed single source of truth
- Partner with Finance, Sales, Supply Chain, and Operations to deliver decision-grade reporting, analytics, and business intelligence
- Lead responsible adoption of AI technologies, including Microsoft 365 Copilot and Power Platform, while ensuring proper governance, security, and user adoption
- Establish and maintain a corporate-wide information security program to ensure that information assets are adequately protected
