Job Summary

The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining efficient manufacturing processes and work instructions in accordance with site and safety standards. The role involves process optimization, troubleshooting production issues, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to drive quality, safety, and productivity improvements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safety: Learn, implement, and comply with all Safety, Ergonomics, and Management of Change activities to support site safety goals. Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) may be required; training and certification will be provided if needed.
  • Process and Work Instructions: Generate and maintain Manufacturing Processes and Work Instructions per MSOP standards. Create and update Oracle ERP routings for products.
  • Inspection: Identify needs for standard or special gauging, and specify special equipment/tooling for production.
  • Problem Resolution: Provide timely support in resolving manufacturing issues; complete NCRs in accordance with MSOP standards.
  • Process Optimization: Improve First Pass Yield (FPY) and Overall Process Effectiveness (OPE). Use Lean Six Sigma tools to reduce waste and variation. Support 5S and visual management initiatives.
  • Work Cell Design: Assist in developing Work Cell Design, Integration, and Validation when required.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (Quality Eng, Design Eng, Tool Design Group, Production Supervisors, and Technicians) to improve workflow, throughput, quality, and safety. Participate in meetings and calls as needed.
Required Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in a manufacturing environment involving hand assembly, mechanical fasteners, and testing.
  • Must be a U.S. person under ITAR (U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident, Asylee, or Refugee).
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now or in the future.
Nice-to-Have Experience
  • Experience developing and supporting electrical or electro‑mechanical manufacturing and assembly processes (welding, TIG, electron beam, vacuum furnace brazing, machining).
  • Practitioner of Lean Manufacturing and Visual Control implementations.
  • Experience developing tooling used for mechanical and electrical assembly.
  • Understanding of Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA) principles.
  • Knowledge and use of PFMEAs within manufacturing.
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement and root cause problem‑solving activities.
