American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring an active IL license and prior ED travel experience.
Details- Work in a General Emergency Department treating combined adult and pediatric patients
- 13-week assignment on night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
- Schedule includes Friday and Saturday shifts plus one weekday as needed
- No on-call responsibilities
- No floating required for this role
- Local candidates are accepted
- Active Illinois RN license required and in hand at time of application
- Minimum 2 years of ED nursing experience required
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC
- NRP certification preferred
- Prior travel nursing experience required (no first-time travelers)
- Experience with any charting system required
- Skilled in managing trauma, cardiac emergencies, psychiatric crises, and pediatric emergency conditions
- Proficient in triage, EKG interpretation, splinting, and management of dysrhythmias
- AHA and Red Cross certifications accepted; RQI cards not accepted
- Provide emergency care across a wide range of adult and pediatric conditions including trauma, respiratory distress, cardiac events, and psychiatric emergencies
- Perform procedures such as 12-lead EKGs, splint application, chest tube management, and intubation support
- Manage patients requiring IV therapy, blood product administration, and central line care
- Identify and report signs of abuse or neglect
- Apply isolation precautions and PPE protocols as needed
- Previous permanent or PRN employees of the health system must be separated for at least 12 months before returning as a traveler
- RTO is limited to no more than 5 non-holiday days
- Candidates must be willing to work 2 of the 3 major holidays
- Travel pairs are not accepted for this assignment
- First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
