American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring an active IL license and prior ED travel experience.

• Work in a General Emergency Department treating combined adult and pediatric patients
• 13-week assignment on night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• Schedule includes Friday and Saturday shifts plus one weekday as needed
• No on-call responsibilities
• No floating required for this role
• Local candidates are accepted

• Active Illinois RN license required and in hand at time of application
• Minimum 2 years of ED nursing experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC
• NRP certification preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required (no first-time travelers)
• Experience with any charting system required
• Skilled in managing trauma, cardiac emergencies, psychiatric crises, and pediatric emergency conditions
• Proficient in triage, EKG interpretation, splinting, and management of dysrhythmias
• AHA and Red Cross certifications accepted; RQI cards not accepted

• Provide emergency care across a wide range of adult and pediatric conditions including trauma, respiratory distress, cardiac events, and psychiatric emergencies
• Perform procedures such as 12-lead EKGs, splint application, chest tube management, and intubation support
• Manage patients requiring IV therapy, blood product administration, and central line care
• Identify and report signs of abuse or neglect
• Apply isolation precautions and PPE protocols as needed
• Previous permanent or PRN employees of the health system must be separated for at least 12 months before returning as a traveler
• RTO is limited to no more than 5 non-holiday days
• Candidates must be willing to work 2 of the 3 major holidays
• Travel pairs are not accepted for this assignment
• First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
