Position Summary
The purpose of this role is to compute, classify, and record numerical data to maintain complete and accurate financial records. Performs routine calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain primary financial data used in maintaining accounting records.
Essential Job Functions- Set up and maintain the vendor database
- Collect and organize required documentation, including invoices, purchase orders, and related paperwork
- Review payment support for mathematical accuracy and proper approvals
- Classify, scan, and enter invoices into the accounting system
- Process payments (check or EFT) according to the schedule established by the Director of Accounting
- Enter and process credit card transactions
- Prepare annual 1099 forms
- Prepare sales and use tax worksheets
- Prepare and file annual personal property tax reports for designated locations
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or an associate degree with 1-2 years of accounting experience preferred
- Experience preparing sales and use tax reports preferred
- General accounting knowledge, including bookkeeping skills in accounts payable
- Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations accurately and efficiently
- Proficiency in using a personal computer and software applications (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint), with strong skills in Microsoft Excel
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks
- High attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively with others
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Work is generally performed in an office setting with no unique or hazardous working conditions. Individuals must be able to use standard office equipment, including a tablet or PC.
