LES is looking for a detail-oriented and highly motivated Accounting Assistant to join our Financial Accounting team. This role focuses on supporting capital asset accounting, financial reporting, and bookkeeping in a dynamic environment.
Job SummaryResponsible for assisting with a variety of financial accounting functions, primarily supporting capital asset accounting activities by creating, reviewing, and processing work orders, maintaining accurate financial records, analyzing data, and ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
Essential Duties and Competencies- Reviews, analyzes, and processes work orders to ensure completeness, accuracy, and readiness for closing.
- Creates and maintains operational systems for work order tracking and data compilation.
- Assists with preparing, reviewing, analyzing, and distributing financial reports, including monthly and annual financial and operating statements.
- Prepares and enters journal entries to properly record transactions.
- Assists in maintaining accounting records related to fixed assets.
- Supports fixed asset accounting activities and processes journal entries.

OtherSkills and Abilities
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of utility operations (preferred).
- Knowledge of SAP (preferred).
Associate’s degree in a related field and three years of related experience, or Bachelor’s degree in a related field and one year of related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential duties of the job.
