Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Accountant II to join our Medicaid Drug Rebate (MDR) team. You will navigate complex financial data, implement strategic accounting practices, and make a tangible impact on the Agency’s bottom line. If you are a meticulous individual with a passion for numbers and a desire to excel, this role is tailor‑made for you.
Examples Of Work- Completing accounting activities for the MDR program responsible for the collection of approximately $300 Million in annual drug rebates.
- Processing inbound mail and sorting, logging, and scanning documentation.
- MDR check entry and reconciliation.
- Reviewing documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Completing filing and data entry activities.
- Conducting outreach to drug labeler contacts to ensure all necessary documentation is received accurately and timely.
- Assisting with the completion of MDR audits.
- Compiling and retrieving monthly, quarterly, and ad‑hoc reports.
- Completing journal entries.
- Processing the quarterly MDR labeler invoice process.
- Processing ACH (Direct Deposit) payments.
- Entering payment adjustments and assisting with labeler invoice dispute resolution.
- Maintaining various records and documents.
- Reviewing and responding to MDR mailbox emails and attachments.
- Creating and sending labeler letters for past‑due accounts.
Associate’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, statistics, or related field and experience with accounting/financial management systems; OR 2 years’ experience with professional accounting procedures including developing and modifying accounting/financial management systems.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience working with the Medicaid Drug Rebate program.
- Proficiency in using Excel/Microsoft Office products.
- Experience using State systems such as OnBase; experience with Enterprise 1 is also helpful.
- Experience in State or Federal accounting practices, policies, or procedures.
- Coursework, training, or experience in accounting‑related activities including use of a personal computer and associated software (Accounting software, Adobe, Excel).
- Proficiency using Excel, Word, Outlook, and accounting systems.
- Ability to complete work activities efficiently.
- Good written and oral communication and customer‑service/relationship skills.
- Strong organizational, time‑management, and problem‑solving/critical‑thinking skills; adaptability to various tasks and the ability to accurately follow standard operating procedures.
- Accurately interpreting Medicaid Drug Rebate data and related statements/reports for job duty completion.
- Ability to work well in collaboration with the MDR team and various drug labelers.
