Job Title:
CSE Accountant II (Open)
The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) seeks a detail-oriented professional to join our Office of Economic Assistance (OEA) Child Support Enforcement (CSE) Team.
Location & CompensationLocation:
Lincoln, NE
Salary: $25.403 per hour (non‑exempt)
Schedule:
Monday – Friday, 8:00AM – 5:00PM
Dress:
Business Casual
- Receive, balance, deposit, and validate child support payments.
- Determine distribution based on PRWORA and other federal/state regulations; resolve system discrepancies.
- Interpret court orders and analyze payment records.
- Review and approve invoices from interagency and private vendors for child‑support enforcement expenses.
- Compile statistical information and complete required monthly, quarterly, and annual federal and state reports.
- Collaborate with child‑support workers, agencies, and clients to resolve issues and disburse collections.
- Associate’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, statistics, or related field.
- Experience with accounting/financial management systems.
- OR two years of professional accounting experience, including development and modification of accounting/financial systems.
- Strong critical‑thinking skills.
- Experience interpreting court orders.
- Knowledge of CHARTs, NIS, OnBase, JUSTICS, and/or NFOCUS.
- Experience in child support, contracts, and forensic accounting.
- Knowledge of professional accounting principles and GAAP.
- Research and budgeting techniques; record‑keeping methods.
- Proficiency with word‑processing, spreadsheets, and computerized accounting software.
- Ability to analyze data, prepare budgets, design reports, and communicate findings.
