We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to lead our finance team and oversee all aspects of financial accounting and reporting. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for daily, weekly, monthly and annual accounting tasks and activities. This role is also expected to make recommendations to leadership for developing and maintaining accounting principles, systems of internal control, and practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
This position must meet tight deadlines and perform a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, support of budget and forecast activities, and financial reporting.
- Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce accurate financial reports and statements within established reporting deadlines.
- Establish and enforce proper internal controls over financial reporting, accounting methods, policies, and principles.
- Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end close.
- Consult with management and external advisors, as necessary, regarding the treatment of non-routine transactions.
- Complete special projects needed to support management decisions on a timely basis.
- Respond timely to inquiries from management and external stakeholders regarding financial results, special reporting requests, etc.
- Monitor and report on key financial performance indicators.
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including: month and year-end process including global cash flow report, accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, treasury, budgeting, cash forecasting, revenue and expense variance analysis, capital assets reconciliations, cash disbursement, fixed asset activity, debt activity and account reconciliations
- Coordinate and complete tax returns and other regulatory filings on a timely basis, including coordinating the assistance received from external firms as needed.
- Improve and monitor systems and procedures and initiate timely corrective actions when needed.
- Assign projects and direct staff to ensure timely completion and accuracy.
- Provide training to new and existing staff, as needed.
- Perform a timely review of the work performed by staff to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Meet financial accounting objectives.
- Establish and maintain financial files and records to document transactions in accordance with generally accepted documentation retention guidelines.
- Keep informed about latest developments in the commercial real estate and long-term care industries by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
- Perform other duties as assigned or required.

- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum five (5) years of accounting and financial reporting experience.
- Minimum two (2) years of management experience.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, with a high proficiency in Excel.
- Professional verbal communication, as well as written communication.
- Experience using Quick Books and/or MRI preferred.
