Accounts Payable Specialist
Job Description
The Accounts Payable Specialist supports the online side of the business by managing refunds, handling high-volume data entry, and contributing to a variety of accounting-related projects. This role is ideal for a quick learner who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment where day-to-day responsibilities can change and who is comfortable jumping into new tasks with limited direction.
Responsibilities
+ Process and manage refunds related to the online side of the business with accuracy and timeliness.
+ Perform high-volume data entry for accounts payable and related accounting activities.
+ Assist with accounts payable tasks and learn AP processes as needed.
+ Support various accounting projects, including basic analysis and decision-making tasks.
+ Respond to customer inquiries and phone calls regarding invoices, particularly for auctions.
+ Use Excel at an intermediate level to perform vlookups, create and maintain pivot tables, and support reporting and analysis.
+ Adapt to changing daily priorities and responsibilities in a fast-paced work environment.
+ Collaborate with team members to complete projects and contribute to process improvements.
+ Work independently on assigned tasks, taking initiative and handling projects with minimal direction.
Essential Skills
+ Experience working in a fast-paced work environment.
+ Data entry experience with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
+ Ability to quickly learn new systems, processes, and tasks.
+ Comfort jumping into projects with little direction and working independently.
+ Intermediate Excel skills, including vlookups and pivot tables.
+ Basic customer service skills, including handling calls and questions about invoices.
+ Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.

Skills & Qualifications
+ Accounting background or exposure to accounting concepts, which is highly beneficial for projects and decision-making.
+
Experience with accounts payable processes; AP skills can be taught for the right candidate.
+ Broad experience across different types of tasks or roles, with a flexible and adaptable mindset.
+ Ability to assist with basic analysis and support accounting-related decision-making.
+ Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities as the role evolves.
Work Environment
This role operates in a fast-paced office environment supporting the online side of the business, with frequent changes in day-to-day responsibilities and priorities. The position involves regular use of Excel, data entry tools, and accounting-related systems, along with phone-based communication to address invoice questions from auction customers. The work style emphasizes adaptability, initiative, and comfort working with limited direction, while collaborating with others to complete projects and support ongoing operations.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lincoln, NE.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
