Job Summary
Administrative Technician – Occupational Licensure Team at the State of Nebraska’s Department of Health and Human Services.
Location and CompensationLocation:
Lincoln, NE
Hiring Rate: $18.548 per hour
Hours:
Monday – Friday, 8:00–5:00
Dress Attire:
Business Casual
- Reviewing and processing applications related to licensure and certification.
- Ensuring all documents, including transcripts and examination scores, are accurate and complete for initial licensure and renewals.
- Issuing, renewing, auditing, reinstating, and inactivating licenses while following established procedures.
- Assisting with preparation for board meetings by compiling applications that need Board review and adding them to agenda materials, as well as preparing rooms if needed.
- Entering and updating licensing and renewal data into the online web browser My License Office (MLO).
- Communicating with licensees, applicants, and the public regarding licensing requirements, statutes, and regulations.
- Handling routine phone calls, correspondence, and maintaining organized files.
- Operating copiers, fax machines, and other office equipment as needed.
- Minimum qualifications:
Coursework/training or experience related to research, presentation, or publication in an area related to the programs or functions of the employing agency; business administration; accounting; customer service; and/or technical support work, including use of computer software such as word processing, spreadsheets, and database management. - Preferred qualifications:
Ability to review applications/documents in accordance with statutes, regulations, and guidelines; proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access (or similar software); experience with phone and in-person customer service, especially regarding the status of applications and required documentation; ability to organize, track, update, and file records in both electronic and manual formats; experience handling confidential documents in compliance with HIPAA regulations;
valid driver's license.
