Office Professional II, Reception, Student Services
Starting Date:
Immediately
The primary purpose of this position is to provide the first point of contact for the Student Services Department. Greet guests and direct them to the appropriate staff. Requires a high level of communication, sensitivity, and problem-solving skills. Process high volumes of transcript requests and record requests in a timely fashion. Keep information confidential and only release when proper Release of Records documents have been presented.

Skills:
Possess and demonstrate effective oral, written, and listening skills when reading, analyzing, and interpreting various documents. - Reasoning
Skills:
Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in various forms. Make decisions in a timely manner, utilizing input from others as appropriate. - Human Relations
Skills:
Establish and maintain effective, professional working relationships with employees, students and community while maintaining the appropriate level of confidentiality. - Computer
Skills:
Knowledge of computer systems including but not limited to time and attendance system, information systems (student and/or financial as appropriate) and the policies/regulations associated with such usage. Ability to use the following programs:
Word, Excel, Google Suite. - Ability to function effectively in confrontational situations.
- Answer multi-line phone system, directing calls to appropriate Student Services Staff. Handle all incoming visitors and staff to Student Services. Answer questions and interpret LPS policies and guidelines.
- Responsible for processing applications for Educational Rights, Emancipated Youth, and transcripts, and educational verification forms for potential employers. Processing requests for records requested via subpoena.
- Notary duties.
This position is subject to Veterans' preference.
Hourly pay rate: $21.39/hr.
