Office Specialist (Open)
Location:
Lincoln, NE | Salary: $17.642/hr | Job
- Provide information to customers by phone, e-mail, and in person concerning game laws, regulations, season dates, application processes, and educational literature.
- Maintain databases, run reports, issue and keep files for multiple Divisional issued permits.
- Process employee expense reimbursements for the division and prepare and audit invoices for payment.
- Obtain travel authorization for staff and assist with their travel arrangements.
- Perform word‑processing requests, including letters, memos, reports, assist with mailings and photocopy requests for assigned staff.
- Potential to serve as backup for entry of commodity requisitions and Permanent Payroll into the state accounting system for approval.
- Assist with Divisional inventory, surplus, and general statewide office support as assigned.
- Minimum qualifications:
Coursework or training in administrative/office support functions, procedures, and methods including the operation of personal computers and office equipment; or experience in customer service or public contact; or applying criteria/regulations; and/or performing administrative/office/secretarial support work including use of personal computers and office equipment. - Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Organizational and computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Access) needed to create and maintain databases; ability to communicate effectively with agency staff and supply needed reports to administrators and meet associated deadlines. - Applicants with a general knowledge of the agency’s mission and basic wildlife management principles are preferred but not required.
