Job DescriptionJoin Nebraska VR as a VR Program Associate and make a difference! In this role, you’ll support our mission of helping youth and adults with disabilities prepare for, find, and maintain meaningful employment.
We’re looking for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, takes initiative, and stays organized while multitasking. If you bring strong problem‑solving skills, customer service expertise, and a collaborative spirit, we want you on our team.
The Nebraska Department of Education does not sponsor or transfer non‑immigrant work visas for these positions.
Responsibilities- Enter client information into the Nebraska VR data system (QE2) for intake, appointment set up, service provision, etc.; run reports and monitor and update employment milestones.
- Upload client documents and enter task notes for all interactions.
- Contact medical providers, schools, and other organizations to request and collect necessary medical, school, public benefit, and financial information, and ensure receipt.
- Perform receptionist duties, respond to basic questions about Vocational Rehabilitation, and schedule appointments for clients.
- Prepare payment authorizations, obtain agreed‑upon goods and services and verify their receipt.
- Contact businesses that provide goods or services to Nebraska VR to set up payment accounts.
- Perform administrative duties and accounting work, including reviewing and processing accounts receivable and payable.
- Assist VR Specialists with client purchases.
- File, copy, route information, and process mail and postage.
- Operate and maintain office equipment, manage inventory, and order and stock supplies.
- Maintain regular & reliable attendance, travel independently, and work in a variety of settings.
This position requires approximately 100% of work time spent in an office environment. No overnight travel is expected.
Minimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent and two years of experience related to the essential functions of the position. Any equivalent education and/or work experience may be substituted to meet the minimum qualifications.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with persons with disabilities, providing customer service.
- Experience using a client data system and keeping accurate records.
- Experience with accounting functions such as accounts payable and accounts receivable.
