Responsibilities- Responsible for creating, communicating, and frequently updating an imaginative and prescient path for the product portfolio.
- Accountable for the creation, decisions, and refinement of a fully prioritized backlog of opportunities that align with Alaska’s business strategy and goals.
- Accountable for the creation, communication, and maintenance of strategic roadmaps to ensure visibility and transparency of planned work.
- Use product discovery strategies to take ideas to prototype.
- Chargeable for developing user memories and reputation criteria.
- Use story‑mapping strategies to illustrate the introduction of launch plans, with a strong bias toward incremental transport and new releases.
- Associate with UX design and Engineering teams to guide and prioritize throughout the product development process, and participate in user studies and product discovery experiments.
- Exercise sound judgment to make key trade‑off decisions.
- Engage in optimistic conversations with—and deliver difficult messages when necessary—to key stakeholders, including senior executives, while building expert and productive relationships.
- Coordinate new and changed capabilities with affected agencies to ensure seamless rollout of latest features.
- Interact with outside vendors in design, delivery and support of software and hardware products.
- Develop and review key product improvement metrics, building the capability to tune and calibrate offerings.
- Provide everyday support of the portfolio of packages and products, including handling help inquiries, responding to user feedback, creating communications, triaging reported system issues, and identifying decision timelines as part of Agile delivery sprints.
- Build and establish partnerships with outside companies and partners to achieve outcomes that aid the operation and product(s).
- 3 years of experience in product control.
- Bachelor’s degree with a focus in a related subject, or equivalent years of schooling/experience in lieu of a degree.
- Previous experience working with digital search and discovery products.
- Proficiency with product management methodologies (including user research and product discovery).
- Skills with AGILE/SCRUM software development processes.
- Verified knowledge of the software development life cycle (SDLC).
- High‑quality written and verbal communication skills with multiple audiences, including technical and non‑technical customers, colleagues, and executives.
- Potential to facilitate stakeholder meetings and coordinate schedules for innovative solutions.
- Demonstrated capacity to interact with all stages of organizational management across divisions.
- Proven ability to manage multiple complex tasks.
- Proof of conflict‑free status.
- Greater than a college degree or equivalent is required.
- Minimum age of 18.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Prior product control experience with a team developing mobile applications for iOS devices.
- Prior airline industry experience.
- Enjoy managing vendor relationships.
