Short Description
Bowman has an opportunity for a Transportation Construction Inspector to join our team in Lincoln, NE.
PurposePerform bridge and highway inspections to ensure compliance with codes and regulations.
Responsibilities- Perform work under moderate supervision; receive direction on moderately complex assignments.
- Liaise with project managers concerning pertinent findings of inspections.
- Perform inspections for transportation construction projects to ensure they are completed in accordance with plans, specifications and codes.
- Document project assignments accurately.
- Prepare inspection and contractor performance reports for project records.
- Maintain project documents and files.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.

- Ability to manage multiple time‑sensitive tasks.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of one (1) year of DOT experience as a Technical Assistant 2 (TA‑2) or higher; or two (2) years minimum of transportation, highway, or bridge construction inspection experience; or four (4) years minimum of highway or bridge construction, non‑highway or bridge inspection, or highway or bridge design experience.
- NICET certification – a plus.
- DOT Concrete Field Testing Technician Certification – a plus.
- NECEPT Bituminous Field Certification – a plus.
- Valid state driver's license; ability to pass a motor vehicle check or reliable transportation to/from office and/or project site strongly preferred.

- Mobility around an office environment.
- Frequent use of standard office equipment.
- Occasional lifting or carrying up to 20 lbs; pushing or pulling up to 20 lbs; reaching outward or above shoulder.
