Think of this role as your ultimate news and sports adventure, with a primary focus on news for the majority of the year. From January to mid‑August, you’ll be on the front lines, covering the daily pulse of Lincoln. But then, it’s game on! You’ll pivot to our beloved sports team for college and high‑school football season – the most intense and thrilling time of the year!
You’ll learn from the best, working under Sports Director Kevin Sjuts, telling the stories that absolutely lead our broadcasts (because in Nebraska, sports news is always the main event during the season!). And yes, we’ll provide all the training you need to excel in every aspect, news, and sports.
- Own breaking news:
Respond with urgency and precision to developing stories and critical weather events, delivering impactful, live reports for broadcast, streaming, and digital platforms. - Craft compelling narratives:
Research, investigate, shoot, write, and edit hard‑hitting news stories and captivating sports features that resonate deeply with our Lincoln community. - Drive digital engagement:
