Job Description & How to Apply Below
Role
Description:
The wedding and event emcee/dj position is NOT a club DJ. It is a primarily a customer service position. You are there to take care of our clients on some of the most important events of their lives. You will need to be entertaining and play great music for every event, but we are looking for people who want to help our clients create amazing memories.
Qualifications:- Ability to commit to the position for a minimum of 2-3 years. We aren't looking for job hoppers or people looking to try new things and move on. We can train you to do a good job in 3-4 weeks, but it takes time to hone the skills that make a great wedding and event DJ. If you can't commit to this, please don't apply.
- No experience needed. We provide all the training and equipment. You only need to bring a fun outgoing personality, willingness to learn, and a desire for great customer service. If you don't feel comfortable with this, please don't apply.
- Saturday availability is a REQUIREMENT. We work on Saturdays. No exceptions. Some Friday and Sunday availability is a plus. If you can't commit to this, please don't apply.
- A clean, reliable vehicle that is well maintained and insured.
- Above average communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with clients, guests, and event partners.
- An understanding of how to dress and groom yourself professionally. This is not a position for people who are making a statement with their looks. A wedding and event DJ's appearance should allow them to blend into the background during an event. It's not about the DJ; it's about the client.
- Ability to lift and set up equipment (50lbs) and work on your feet for extended periods.
A wedding and event DJ is an incredibly, rewarding, and lucrative job and most people who do develop a passion for it. However, this is a seasonal part-time position. Due to the nature of the wedding industry, there is a period between November to early March that work slows down and you will not be working. During wedding season, you can expect to work almost every weekend.
