Customer Service Rep, Retail Associate/ Customer Service
Part-Time | Millennial Toybox | Lincoln, Nebraska
Millennial Toybox is a nostalgia shop and community space created for the kids we were and the ones we’re raising. We help customers reconnect with the toys, movies, games, books, and memories that made childhood feel magical.
We are looking for one or two warm, upbeat, and dependable people to help create a welcoming customer experience and keep the store running smoothly.
What You’ll Do:- Welcome customers and create a friendly, inviting experience
- Answer questions in person and over the phone
- Operate the register and process purchases accurately
- Help customers find items and learn about our products, rentals, events, and services
- Keep the sales floor organized, stocked, and presentable
- Clean and prepare newly acquired pre-loved inventory
- Rewind, inspect, and organize incoming VHS tapes
- Sort incoming items and flag damage or condition concerns
- Complete light cleaning and other store projects during slower periods
Customers are always the priority in this role. You should be able to work independently on store projects while remaining attentive to the register, phone, and customers throughout the shop.
You Might Be a Great Fit If You:- Have previous experience in a customer-facing role
- Are naturally friendly, welcoming, and comfortable starting conversations
- Are dependable, punctual, and able to work independently
- Are comfortable juggling multiple tasks
- Are proactive and able to stay productive without constant direction
- Are patient and comfortable working with children, families, collectors, and nostalgic adults
- Love nostalgia, pop culture, toys, movies, video games, books, or collectibles
- Can recognize when a customer wants assistance and when they would prefer to browse quietly
Previous retail experience is not required, but applicants should have experience regularly welcoming, assisting, and communicating with customers or guests. This could include hospitality, food service, reception, childcare, events, museums, entertainment, or a similar customer-facing position.
Knowledge of trading cards, especially Pokémon, is a big bonus but is not required.
You do not need to know every Beanie Baby, VHS tape, video game, trading card, or ’90s character on day one. We care most about your reliability, willingness to learn, confidence interacting with the public, and the way you make people feel when they visit the store.

Starting pay: $15 per hour
