About the RoleAs an Instructional Design and E‑Learning Specialist, you'll transform source content into engaging, interactive online learning modules that prepare staff for recreation programs and services. Your work will directly support our efforts to build confident, supported, and motivated team members through professional development.
What You'll Do- Design and develop online training modules using e-learning authoring tools, applying best practices in instructional design.
- Ensure training is clear, interactive, and effective for seasonal and temporary staff.
- Publish and test modules in our Learning Management System (LMS) for easy access and usability.
- Gain hands‑on experience with industry‑standard tools and AI‑assisted content development, or showcase your professional expertise.
- Contribute to learning experiences that are engaging, practical, and relevant to staff roles.
- Enjoy flexible scheduling and milestone‑based work that fits school, freelance projects, or other commitments.
- Opportunity for additional projects or extended work.
- Training or experience in instructional design, e-learning development, or educational technology.
- Familiarity with e-learning tools or related coursework is a plus. Professional experience is welcome.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail, including adherence to City of Lincoln branding and accessibility standards.

Compensation and Pay$20.00 – $22.00 per hour. Pay is issued by direct deposit only. Candidates must have a valid bank account registered in their name in order to receive wages.
* This is an unclassified (temporary) position and is not eligible for benefits.
Part‑time, temporary position. Approximately 10–20 hours per week with flexible scheduling and milestone‑based deadlines. Project duration is 6–8 weeks, with potential for additional projects and extended work. Hybrid options available.
Minimum QualificationsSufficient training and experience to perform the duties assigned.
