LPS is hiring for elementary special education coordinator positions. In this position a special education coordinator works 189 days with 14 additional days. Position will begin August 1, 2026.
Locations are still being finalized. Applicants will be notified during interview process.
LPS is looking for a person who exhibits the following characteristics:
- Collaborative with other administrators, parents, and teachers
- Knowledgeable of Rule 51, IDEA and LPS school board policies
- Lead MDT, IEP, FBA, BIP, Manifestation and Safety Plan meetings for students
- Guide special education staff on accommodations and modifications while using the general education curriculum
- Appraise, train and communicate with special education teachers and para educators
Must hold a valid driver’s license, special education degree, and qualify for a Nebraska Administrative and Supervisory Certificate.
This position is subject to a veterans preference.
