Compensation: $43,642 – $91,830 per year (placement per REA Collective Bargaining Agreement)
Purpose of the PositionThe Teacher understands the central concepts, methods of inquiry, and structures of disciplines and creates learning experiences that make the content meaningful to all students.
Supervisory ResponsibilitiesNone
Duties and Responsibilities- Ensure that all actions are in concert with the Board policies and mission statement.
- Participate in job training and professional growth opportunities.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences.
- Engage students in an inquiry‑based delivery model of instruction.
- Provide a variety of learning materials and resources.
- Use a wide range of instructional strategies and technologies to meet the needs of a diverse student population.
- Consider equitable resources and instructional practices.
- Update and maintain all necessary records accurately and completely as required by law, district policies, and school regulations.
- Create and maintain a safe learning environment.
- Demonstrate effective behavior management techniques appropriate to all students, including those with disabilities.
- Maintain discipline in accordance with building expectations and the student code of conduct.
- Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents regarding progress and needs.
- Participate in Professional Learning Communities (PLC).
- Create formative assessments aligned to district curriculum.
- Analyze student data from formative and summative assessments to drive differentiated instruction and data‑based decision making.
- Utilize current technology to enhance student learning.
- Illinois Teaching License with appropriate endorsements and certifications.
- Demonstrate qualities aligned to the district's core values:
Character, Communication, Collaboration, and Continuous Improvement. - Effectively communicate with all school stakeholders.
- Develop relationships with students and parents.
- Know various instructional strategies and techniques.
- Know best teaching and assessing practices.

- Organize and maintain student records, including grade books.
