Due to retirement, Hershey Public Schools is seeking a dynamic and student-centered leader to serve as our 7–12 Assistant Principal and Activities Director beginning with the 2026–2027 school year.
Hershey Public Schools is a supportive, close-knit district with strong community pride and a tradition of academic and extracurricular excellence. Our community strongly supports our school, as demonstrated by the recent passage of our bond issue. This investment has provided updated, high-quality facilities, including a new Activity Center addition, that enhances learning, activities, and opportunities for students. We are looking for a leader who will inspire students and staff, strengthen school culture, and continue to build on our positive momentum.
The successful candidate will:
Support the Principal in daily operations of grades 7–12
Build strong partnerships with families and the community
Supervise and evaluate coaches and activity sponsors
Oversee all 7–12 activities and athletics
Ensure compliance with NSAA regulations and district policies
Promote sportsmanship, character development, and Panther pride
As Activities Director, this leader will work closely with students, coaches, sponsors, and community members to maintain strong programs and expand opportunities for student involvement. Community support for activities is exceptional, and our district values broad participation and positive student experiences.
Qualified candidates must hold or be eligible to obtain a Nebraska Administrative Certificate with appropriate endorsement. Secondary leadership experience is preferred.
Hershey Public Schools will offer the 7–12 Assistant Principal/Activities Director a highly competitive starting salary based on experience and qualifications. This is a 200-day contract beginning on or around July 15 and continuing through May 31 each year. The position includes a comprehensive benefits and leave package including full family health and dental insurance coverage and participation in the Nebraska Public Employees Retirement System (NPERS).
