Overview
The First Episode Psychosis (FEP) program provides recovery-oriented, evidence-based support for young people who are beginning to experience changes in perception, thinking, or mood that may indicate early psychosis. The Supported Employment and Education (SEE) Specialist assists participants in returning to school or work as quickly as possible using the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) model. This role supports young adults experiencing first episode psychosis in achieving vocational and educational goals through personalized, recovery-focused services.

Job Duties- Provide individualized employment and education services based on participant goals, interests, and strengths.
- Conduct job development, employer outreach, and collaboration with schools or training programs.
- Support participants with interview preparation, job coaching, and on-the-job follow‑along.
- Collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary treatment team (IRT), including therapists and prescribers, to integrate vocational and educational goals into treatment planning.
- Maintain employer and school relationships to support participant success and satisfaction.
- Monitor participant progress and track employment and education outcomes for reporting and program evaluation.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation consistent with fidelity, agency, and regulatory standards.
- Build and maintain direct service expectations and/or referral base.
- Participate in ongoing quality improvement, fidelity assessments, and training initiatives.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong interpersonal, networking, and communication skills.
- Ability to build partnerships with employers, educators, and community agencies.
- Competence in motivational interviewing and strengths-based approaches.
- Strong problem‑solving and organizational goals, with the ability to manage multiple participants’ goals while maintaining timely documentation.
- Computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent, and Electronic Health Record systems.
- Able to maintain confidentiality and handle information with professionalism and discretion.
- Participate in the agency’s Performance & Quality Improvement (PQI) activities as assigned.
- Regular and predictable attendance, and promptness for work.

- Bachelor’s degree in behavioral health, education, rehabilitation counseling, or related field preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Prior experience providing supported employment or education services preferred.
- Experience with early psychosis or community-based behavioral health programs preferred.
- Valid driver’s license, liability auto insurance, and ability to drive for agency business.
- Prolonged periods of working on a computer and operating general office equipment.
- Company‑issued laptop and cell phone.
- In‑office position with occasional hybrid work, as directed.
- Occasional evening or weekend work may be required to support events or family needs.
- Travel to community and partner sites to support client services, as directed and as applicable by region.
