Job DescriptionTHIS IS THE POOL APPLICATION FOR THE SUBSTITUTE PARA EDUCATOR
FOR SCHOOL YEAR
Lincoln Public Schools is continuously accepting applications for the Substitute Para educator position. The Substitute Para educator is an on-call position replacing the regularly assigned para educator. The position consists of a variety of duties dependent upon the type of student needs and programs.
The responsibilities include assisting teachers in carrying out district educational programming; classroom and lunchroom supervision; aiding a student with special needs – learning and behavioral needs, as well as mental and physical challenges; early childhood programs; and school entrance monitoring and supervision. The Substitute Para educator requires flexibility, willingness to follow directions, and the ability to adapt quickly to new locations and duties.
Strong organizational skills and oral/written communication skills are required.
The position hours will depend on assignment work schedule. We are looking for candidates for both short-term and long-term substitute opportunities.
Substitute Paraeducators must be available to also work during those times they have indicated availability.
Substitute Paraeducators are required to review and sign the appropriate job description prior to accepting substitute assignments. In addition, Secured Entrance Monitor Substitute Para must complete training prior to accepting assignments.
This position is subject to veterans preference.
