Job Description

Assistant Unified Track Coach at Lincoln Northeast High School. The coach will support athletes in the Unified Track & Field program, fostering positive relationships with student-participants, families, and the LPS community. Responsibilities include organizing and leading practices, regular season and district contests, managing program oversight, maintaining required certifications, and guiding teams in NSAA state championship preparation.

The coach should possess comprehensive knowledge and experience in track and field, strong communication and organizational skills, and a desire to develop a high-quality program. Experience in academic-based athletics is highly valued.

Required credentials:
Nebraska Department of Education Teacher or Administrative Certificate, or Special Services Coaching Permit. Knowledge of NSAA and LPS policies and bylaws is required. CPR certification (provided by LPS) and NFHS certification in Concussion, Heat Illness, and Sudden Cardiac Awareness are required.

This position is subject to a veterans preference.

Job Requirements
  • Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
  • Teacher or coach who holds a Nebraska Department of Education Teacher or Administrative Certificate or a Nebraska Department of Education Special Services Coaching Permit.
  • Knowledge and understanding of NSAA and LPS policies and bylaws.
  • CPR certification (provided by LPS) and NFHS certifications in Concussion, Heat Illness, and Sudden Cardiac Awareness.
