Job DescriptionParaeducators assigned to the Early Childhood program will work with 3 and 4 year old children in a learning and social environment. Duties include assisting in the classroom, breakfast and lunch set up/clean up, facilitating learning, play and self-help activities, and assisting teachers in implementing Individual Education Programs for children below age five who have verified disabilities. Paraeducators are assigned non‑teaching duties which include a wide variety of activities.
This position will work in both the morning and afternoon programs.
Qualifications- 48 hours of college credit (semester) or an associate degree to comply with Title I requirement.
- At least 12 semester credit hours in early childhood/child development or equivalent per State Rule 11.
- Associate Degree in Early Childhood Development preferred.
- 8 hours of training or experience at hire; remaining 6 hours to be completed by end of second year.
- Must be 19 years of age and meet State of Nebraska licensing requirements, including CPR certification and First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain and maintain).
Salary is $21.30/hour.
This position is subject to veterans preference.
