Summit Christian Academy is seeking a highly qualified and spiritually grounded English Teacher. We are looking for someone who brings both academic expertise and a biblical worldview to the classroom. The ideal candidate will be excited to mentor students in both their intellectual development and their faith journeys, and contribute positively to school culture through collaboration and participation in school events.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the educational needs of students in grades 7-12, ensuring alignment with the school's Christian values and academic standards.
Create a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
Required
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
Master's degree preferred.
Required Experience:
Experience teaching at a secondary school level, preferably within grades 7-12
Previous experience working in a faith-based educational environment is highly desirable
Demonstrated ability to integrate Christian values into teaching and curriculum
Required
Skills and Abilities:
Strong understanding of educational best practices for secondary education
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and staff
Ability to create a positive classroom environment that supports diverse learning needs
Proficiency in curriculum development and lesson planning tailored to secondary education
Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with educational trends and technologies
Capability to foster students' spiritual, academic, and personal growth in alignment with Christian principles
Assess and evaluate student performance, providing constructive feedback and support to promote academic growth and development.
Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and administration to support student learning and address any academic or behavioral concerns.
Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay informed about the latest educational practices and trends.
Uphold and promote the mission and values of Summit Christian Academy in all interactions with students, parents, and colleagues.
