Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity as a Sign Language Interpreter supporting elementary students in a dynamic school environment. Located near Lincoln, NE, this onsite position is designed for interpreters eager to make a positive impact during the 2026–2027 school year.

The assignment begins August 12, 2026, and concludes on May 20, 2027. The role offers a standard school‑day schedule from 7:45 am to 3:15 pm, but candidates seeking part‑time afternoons are welcome to apply, with hours from 11:00 am to 3:15 pm.

Qualifications & Desired Experience
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and interpreting within educational settings.
  • Experience working with elementary‑aged students preferred.
  • Open to candidates holding a provisional license if EIPA score is below 4.0.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, staff, and families.
  • Strong ethical standards and commitment to student confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver interpreting services for deaf and hard‑of‑hearing students in classroom and school activities.
  • Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and peers to ensure equitable access to instruction and participation.
  • Adapt interpreting style according to student needs and educational content.
  • Contribute to Individualized Education Program (IEP) team meetings when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records of interpreting services as required by the district.
